The radio station that never sleeps

Somewhere right now — three in the morning, lunch rush, doesn't matter — there is a radio station playing beach country, and it has never once gone off the air since the day it lit up in early August.

It's mine. Beach Country Radio runs around the clock at davidalangraham.net/radio, playing the whole catalog: the summer record, the albums before it, the live takes, all of it, shuffled together the way an actual small-town station would do it.

I built it because I missed something. I grew up on radio you didn't control — you turned it on and the station decided, and sometimes it decided wrong and sometimes it played the exact right song at the exact right minute and you sat in the driveway until it finished. Streaming gave us everything except that. The not-choosing. The company of it.

So if you work a night shift, or you're doing dishes, or you just want music without making seventeen decisions first: the station's on. It'll be on when you wake up too.
